Purbasthali College is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural academic journal, Kaleidoscope: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences. True to its name, Kaleidoscope seeks to reflect the vibrant spectrum of scholarly perspectives in the fields of humanities and social sciences. The journal aims to create a critical platform for dialogue, research, and engagement across disciplines, encouraging diverse voices and inclusive knowledge-building.

We invite original, unpublished research papers, review articles, essays, and book reviews from scholars, researchers, and academics for Volume 1, Issue 1, to be published in December 2025.

Aims and Scope

We welcome contributions on any topic within the broad ambit of Humanities and Social Sciences, including but not limited to:

  • Indigenous Studies and Local Histories
  • Library and Information Studies

Submission Guidelines

All submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Papers will be double-blind peer-reviewed.

There is no Article Processing Charges (APC).

·  Language: English only

·  Word Limit:

·       Full-length Research Articles: 3000–7000 words

·       Review Articles: up to 2500 words

·       Book Reviews: up to 2500 words

 

·  Abstract: Each submission must be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 250 words, followed by 4–5 keywords.

·  Citation Style: MLA 9th edition or APA 7th edition, based on disciplinary norms.

·  Zero Tolerance for Plagiarism: Kaleidoscope follows a strict plagiarism policy. Submissions made to the journal will be checked for plagiarism using specialized software to ensure the originality of the work. Any form of plagiarism will lead to automatic rejection of the submission.

· Generative AI Policy: Manuscripts generated wholly or partially using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or others will not be accepted. Authors must explicitly declare that the submission is free from AI-generated content in the cover letter.

·  Formatting: Typed in Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced, 1-inch margins (templates attached).
